Your Photo - We use a unique combination of traditional bookbinding methods and modern digital technology to create an album only you will ever have. You send us your photo, via email or hard copy (which we scan and return to you), and we’ll create a photo album uniquely designed with your photo, your choice of fabric and trims and your personalization. It’s simple really. We wanted a name that would be memorable and represent our product. Irises and lilies are my favorite flowers. They are hardy and resilient, and bloom every year, even more beautiful than the year before, regardless of the weather. Our company has weathered many ups and downs over the years, and we keep coming back stronger, just like those favorite flowers.

Add to that that irises and lilies bring back loving memories of my parents. In the Fall of 1994, my dad gave me beautiful purple bearded irises from his garden. These were his pride and joy. After leaving them in a bag for a week and almost killing them, I planted them near my fence. In the spring of 1995, my father suffered a stroke, and passed away in June of that year. I don’t remember if my irises bloomed that first year, but every year after that, my irises bloom on or around my birthday, which is May 18. This is late in my region for irises to bloom, but they wait.

When I was a little girl, we had a wild patch of Lily of the Valley in our backyard. Every May, my mother and I would wait for them to bloom. And then she would cut the first stalks and bring them into the house. She always loved those flowers. Iris & Lily of the Valley was a little too long, so we shortened it to Iris & Lily. She’d understand!

What size picture do I need to send? And what orientation?
A 5x7 or 8x10 size photo in a resolution of at least 180 dpi is best for a clear, crisp image. In most cases, a portrait style photo (taller rather than wider) is the best choice, but if you have a croppable landscape photo, I can usually work with that. If you aren’t sure about your photo, you can email it to me anyway, and I can assess whether we can work with it.

Can I send a photo by mail?
You can send a photo by mail and I can scan it here. I will send it back to you with your album. Please send a duplicate photo though to avoid having an original lost in the mail. If you’d like the electronic image of your photo after it’s done, I will send it to you as well, free of charge.

Can you convert my photo to black and white?
Through my photo editing program, I can crop your photo, convert to black and white or sepia tone. In some cases, we can do black and white with focal color also. If you would like your altered digital image sent to you after your album is complete, I will be happy to email it to you, free of charge.

I have this great photo but the eyes are red. Can you fix that?
We can fix most minor photo problems, like red eye through our photo editing program. If we can’t work with your photo, however, we will send it back to you and request another photo.

Are the sleeves photo safe?
All materials used in our albums are acid- and lignin-free and entirely safe for your photos for years to come.

Can I add pages to this album?
No. These pages are book bound and pages cannot be added. If you are looking for an album where pages can be added, please check out our ring binder albums and postbound scrapbooks.

Can I choose fabric?
You can choose from our selection of fabrics or if you have something special in mind that you don’t see, please ask. We will do what we can to accommodate your request.

Can I choose the ribbon color?
All albums are custom-designed when you order and you can request any color/style ribbon and trim. We will make suggestions that we think will work with your album, but ultimately, this is your decision.

How is the album personalized?
Your album is personalized with a coordinated cardstock tag that matches the colors of your album.

Is there a limit to how many words I can have in my personalization?
As we create these tags when your album is created, you can write pretty much whatever you’d like. We can adjust font size and tag size to accommodate your request.

This is a gift. Can I get it gift-wrapped and sent to the recipient?
Yes, if this album is a gift, you can request gift wrap (this service is free) and we will ship wherever you’d like.

I don’t have a picture yet, but I’d love to give this as a gift. How do I do that?
If you don’t have a photo, you can choose one of our stock photos appropriate for your event, or you can choose from our designer fabric albums. Your heart is set on a portrait album? Then order a gift certificate! We’ll create your album when the pictures are ready!

Do I get to see my album before you send it?
We will send you a digital photo of your album before shipping so you can approve or alter the design.

How long do these take?
As all albums are custom made when you order, please allow 4 to 5 weeks for delivery
